ASHRAE

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (founded in 1894) is a building technology society with more than 54,000 members worldwide. They focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration, and sustainability within the industry. ASHRAE helps shape tomorrow’s built environment through research, writing and publishing standards, and continuing education.

BOMA Ottawa

BOMA Ottawa (The Building Owners and Managers Association) is the voice of the commercial real estate industry in the National Capital. Founded in 1971 by Pat Gillin and about 12 other members, its membership has grown to over 450. BOMA members include those who own, manage, service or support in excess of 60 million square feet of commercial, office, retail, industrial, and institutional property in the region.

Canada Green Building Council

The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) is a not-for-profit, national organization that has been working since 2002 to advance green building and sustainable community development practices in Canada.

Mechanical Contractors Association of Ottawa

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Ottawa is an association working for the betterment and advancement of the unionized trades in the mechanical contracting industry. Their ICI contracting members are signatory to one or more of the following provincial collective agreements: MCAO/OPTC of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada — Ottawa Local Union 71, Cornwall Local 819 and/or the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association — Ottawa Local Union 47. To complement their association of trade contractors, they have associate members made up of suppliers, dealers, manufacturers, and other professional related services.

Ottawa Construction Association

Founded in 1889, the Ottawa Construction Association (OCA) is one of the largest regional construction associations in Canada and the voice of Ottawa’s non-residential construction industry. Its membership of over 1,000 firms builds more than 90 per cent of the Ottawa region’s $3-billion commercial, industrial, and institutional market.

Professional Engineers Ontario

Established on June 14, 1922, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is the licensing and regulating body for engineering in the province. Through the Professional Engineers Act, PEO governs licence and certificate holders and regulates professional engineering in Ontario to serve and protect the public.
